Every car is equipped with a hydraulic braking system. Nowadays, manufacturers are increasingly using an electronically operated parking brake. Fully electric braking is not permitted by law. The brakes at the front and rear are often disc brakes. In older and more affordable modern vehicles, drum brakes are also used. A modern car is always equipped with brake booster assistance and a load-dependent brake force distributor. Classic cars are not always equipped with these systems.
