The safety systems in a vehicle can be classified as “active safety systems,” which try to prevent accidents as much as possible, and “passive safety systems,” which limit injury during an accident as much as possible. Some systems can also be classified as comfort systems; think of a radar / lidar. With the help of this system, the driver can drive in a relaxed way on the road using active cruise control. In the event of a potential hazard, the system switches to a braking intervention. The radar / lidar (driving assistance) therefore falls under the active safety features as well as under the comfort system.
